Guided tour of Biidaasige Park with Waterfront Toronto
Friday September 18 @ 6pm – Insider Tour of Biidaasige Park
Join us on for a tour of Toronto’s new Biidaasige Park with design leaders from Waterfront Toronto, followed by networking drinks at the Keating Channel pub. Harvard alumna Pina Mallozzi Senior Vice President, Design at Waterfront Toronto (GSD - Master of Landscape Architecture 2005) will lead the tour!
A special invitation to Harvard alumni (especially GSD grads!) to explore Biidasige Park and hear about the Port Lands Flood Protection (PLFP) project. This vast feat of landscape architecture and engineering protects 174 ha of lands from flooding, sets the stage for new neighborhoods, and creates 24 ha of parkland where the Don River meets Toronto’s inner harbour. Landscape architects Michal Van Valkenburg and Associates (MVVA) led the multidisciplinary team of consultants, and was managed by Waterfront Toronto. Biidaasige Park weaves together natural aquatic and terrestrial habitats, nature play, public art, indigenous cultural ceremonial spaces, trails and recreational spaces.
A great opportunity to connect with Harvard alumni and to visit one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in North America.
Thanks to the GSD Alumni Council for its generous support of this event.
