Nader Hasan will discuss the role of our constitutional rights in ensuring a just, fair and humane society, and the necessity in ensuring that the courts and the judiciary are free from political interference. Nader R. Hasan is a Toronto-based criminal and constitutional lawyer who has litigated a number of high-profile criminal cases, including the landmark Umar Zameer trial in 2024.
BIO - Nader R. Hasan, A.B. (Harvard) 2002, M.Phil (Cambridge) 2003, J.D. (University of Toronto) 2006. Mr. Hasan is a partner with the Toronto law firm Stockwoods LLP, with a focus in criminal and constitutional litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. He has argued at every level of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, where he regularly appears on behalf of both accused persons and civil liberties organizations. He has also appeared in state and federal courts in the United States. Mr. Hasan has been a member of the UofT Law adjunct faculty since 2010.S
