Please join us on Thursday March 10 from 7-8pm EST, via Zoom for a talk by guest speaker, Dr. Mark R. Beissinger, the Henry W. Putnam Professor, Department of Politics, Princeton University. Dr. Beissinger is an expert on Russian politics and will discuss the situation in Russia-Ukraine.

BIOGRAPHY

Mark R. Beissinger teaches in the Department of Politics at Princeton University and previously taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Harvard University. Prof. Beissinger is the author of many books including Historical Legacies of Communism in Russia and Eastern Europe (2014) and The Revolutionary City: Urbanization and the Global Transformation of Rebellion (2022). His recent writings have dealt with individual participation in the 2004 Orange Revolution in Ukraine and in the Egyptian and Tunisian revolutions in 2011, the impact of new social media on opposition movements in autocratic regimes, Russian imperialism in Eurasia, nationalism and democracy, and revolutionary episodes.
