Professor Matthew Lebo is the Director of the Center for Behavioral Political Economy, Political Science, College of Arts and Sciences, Stony Brook University. A post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University in 2000-2001, Prof. Lebo attained a MA and BA from the University of Toronto, and PhD from the University of North Texas. Prof. Lebo's research focuses on public opinion, presidential and congressional elections, and party politics in the US and Great Britain. His forthcoming book with the University of Chicago Press, Strategic Party Government, builds a new theory of Congress concentrating on how parties balance their policy and electoral goals.
