Resonate Benefit Music

Concert at Victoria College, July 13, 2013

Resonate Benefit Music is a new benefit concert series that aims to foster a lifelong passion for music among audiences while serving charitable and philanthropic needs around the world, such as disaster relief.

They have planned the inaugural concert for this series for the 13th of July, 2013, at the University of Toronto's Victoria College Chapel, with an extremely dedicated and passionate lineup of performers from the Young Artists Performance Academy of the Glenn Gould School, Claude Watson Arts Program, University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, Cornell University, and Harvard University. All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the One Foundation, a charitable organization which was founded by Jet Li, in support of relief efforts for the Sichuan Earthquake that took place this year on April 20th, which seriously affected the lives of over 11,000 people.

On behalf of the group:

"We also invite you to view our website at www.resonatemusic.org.

As you may be aware, there are numerous costs associated with planning and holding a feature concert. Venue rentals, equipment rentals, rehearsal space, and printing costs all amount to a sum total cost that poses an obstacle to raising the funds that will be donated to charitable organizations and causes. We would be extremely grateful if any interested alumni could aid us in minimizing costs and maximizing donations by acting as a sponsor in various ways. One thing that would be of great assistance would be to have a post-concert reception catered to enable social networking and interactions between the audience, the performers, and the organizers. We would be ecstatic to speak with anyone who might be interested in supporting this concert in anyway.

Our concert series has already gained the recognition of the Canadian Music Competition, ViaMusica, as well as the Royal Conservatory of Music. We hope that you will join them in recognizing our efforts to rendezvous audiences and young musicians at the intersection of the arts and philanthropy, which we hope will eventually benefit those in need across the globe."
