Before the show, on Friday, June 15 at 5:45 PM, you are also invited to meet us at Il Fornello at 214 King Street West for a light dinner and discussion about the show with Michael Rubinoff of Sheridan College. He will talk to us about the genesis and journey of the show from idea to Broadway hit.

About Michael Rubinoff:
Michael attended Western University where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Bachelor of Laws. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002. An award-winning producer who conceived the compelling story behind Come From Away as a musical and commissioned Irene Sankoff and David Hein to write it. In 2011 he left the practice of law to accept the appointment as Associate Dean of Visual and Performing Arts at Sheridan College. Upon his arrival at Sheridan he established the Canadian Music Theatre Project (CMTP), an international incubator for the development of new musicals, where he produced and developed the first workshops of Come From Away. He is the creative consultant and a producer of Come From Away on Broadway and in Toronto and a recipient of a 2017 Tony Award nomination for Best Musical for the show. He is currently the Producing Artistic Director of the CMTP where he has launched 23 new musicals. He also produces Theatre Sheridan’s six show season. He is developing new musicals in Canada and China and serves on the Minister of Heritage’s Canadian Cultural and Creative Industry Advisory Group for China. He is a member of the Governor General’s 2015 Canadian Leadership Conference, was named the Canadian Club of Toronto’s 2017 Canadian of the Year and is the 2017 recipient of Colleges and Institutes Canada, Leadership Excellence Award.
